Hey mate,
If you stop trying to transform your life with useless slogans, and start taking actions based on reality…
Today’s article has first a typical useless motivational slogan, then a major golden key based in reality.
Read on and transform your life!
USELESS MOTIVATIONAL SLOGAN: “Fear. Feel the fear and do it anyway.”
2020 Power Play: Memorizing slogans doesn’t get you far, exploring your process getting clarity around your Inner Vision will change your world - LightSpeed!
USELESS MOTIVATIONAL SLOGAN: “Feel the fear and do it anyway!”
That slogan sounds nice, however, it really doesn’t work that way. Here is a much more powerful and elegant solution, compared to getting yourself in a hyper motivated state and trying to overcome your fears, again.
Remember, I am an old school NLP guy. I NOTICE what people do, how they think. (I am not into fixing them, or persuading them to change, I just enjoy helping people notice and get new ways of thinking, so they get new much more satisfying results. Onward!)
Now, there are some people who “feel the fear and do it anyway”. Those people already PROCESS fear in a very specific way. You’ll learn one of their mental strategies in just a second.
There are other people who feel the fear and can’t do crapola. Would you believe that they process fear differently than the “feel the fear and do it anyway” crowd?
Here is a very workable and powerful solution. Study their strategies.
People who feel the fear and do it anyway tend to see fear as a still image, an image they can move around, look at from different angles, study, and go beyond.
“People who get stuck in their fear tend to have a defocused movie that they run, and they don’t see much of it. They literally have commentary in their heads, like Siskel and Ebert, people talking about what would happen if… that fuzzy movie they mostly don’t see… happened.”
Keep in mind, if you decide today to be one of the three brave souls to train with come to Eye’s Wide Open in Austin, you will experience Fear Elimination, Unleashing the Nuclear Power of your Inner Vision, Transcending Motivation and a whole much more. Realistically, everyone I have ever met has a percentage of both strategies. The problem is no matter how successful you are, you still have “fuzzy movies” that you can not exit on your own. You literally need to train in new exits from your inner fuzzy movie theater.
This is why every mega successful person I know, retains coaches, mentors, and works with them regularly. Me included. We all need professional stimulation, advisers, and a swift boot to the head once in a while.
A real life story from our Live Eyes Wide Open training back in May!
“During last month’s Eyes Wide Open training in Austin, a client asked me why it is so difficult to exit our own fuzzy movies. It’s really simple, you are in a trance when watching them. It might be a 2 second trance, it might be a 2 minute trance. Either way, you are GONE, and just a tiny bit of training will help you exit that state more completely and quickly.”
In July, We’ll be training you to exit those trances… it doesn’t do you much good to learn about them…. you need trained to exit them. Some things you just need to experience. Kissing, dancing, and… nuff said.
Three more Fear PowerPoints:
1. Get Specific. A generalized fear, the kind associated with fuzzy movies, will ruin your life. A great example is a fear of failure. Last week, I worked with a LightSpeed Phone Coaching client on fear like this. By the end of the call, he was giggling and well over his failure crapola. He took his generalized fear of failure, and broke it down to very tiny specifics. Once he did that, the fear had so much less power over him.
2. Hang out with extreme winners. You will notice they have fear, they just don’t have fear exactly as you do. Extreme winners process and hold fear differently. Trust me, I have hung out with extreme winners, and extreme whiners. (If you commit to Austin by July 4, I invite you to stay for an extra day or two, and enjoy the city with me. You never know who you might meet. Austin truly is a city full of winners.
3. Don’t hide your fears. The whiners actually seem to hide fear better, the winners let fear show up, full force and in extreme detail and deal with it.
That’s it for today mate!
